Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information
The Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education is dedicated to preparing highly qualified and effective professionals in the areas of public health, health science, health and physical education, and coaching. In addition, the department promotes the concepts of healthy living, physical fitness, and sport skill acquisition in the KSU academic community and in the community at large. The department offers a BS degree in Health and Physical Education (P-12), Integrated Health Science, and Public Health Education, and minors in Public Health and Coaching. The Department supports the University with an array of physical activity courses.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education for the academic year 2022-2023. These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following at a minimum:
  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the area of specialization
  • Teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
  • Assigning Grades
  • Preparing Course Materials
  • Creating and grading exams
  • Using a learning management system (D2L)
  • Lecturing
  • Maintaining the learning environment/physical activity lab
  • Other responsibilities as appropriate

Required Qualifications
  • Masters degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Public Health, Health Science, or Physical Education, or closely related field is required for instructors.
  • An earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in Public Health, Health Science, or Physical Education or closely related field is required for professorial ranks.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of past teaching at a particular university level
  • Professional accomplishment or recognition in one or more area of specialization
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced student-centered academic environment
