Position Description: CSUB is looking specifically for a dynamic person with knowledge, skills, and abilities to work cooperatively with current faculty in delivering the current curriculum and offering additional research opportunities to serve more effectively an ever-increasing number of undergraduate majors and graduate students, representing a diverse student body in a culturally diverse community. Teaching assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following existing courses— Techniques of Teaching Lifelong Physical Activity, Child and Adolescent Physical Activity and Health, Measurement and Evaluation in Kinesiology. In addition, the department seeks an individual willing to explore new teaching strategies including online instruction and be willing to teach in our Master of Science program. As a tenure-track Assistant Professor, the candidate must develop, within a normal 6-year probationary period, a sustained record of teaching success (especially at the undergraduate level), research and scholarship (especially involving students), and professionally-related service to the Department, University and local community to justify the award of tenure and promotion to Associate Professor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. (ABD with degree completed before start date) in Physical Education and Pedagogy in Kinesiology, or closely related field, from an accredited doctoral-granting institution.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.

Preferred Qualifications:
Record of undergraduate teaching success broadly, but specifically in Adaptative Physical Education and courses as or to similar to Techniques of Teaching Lifelong Physical Activity, Child and Adolescent Physical Activity and Health, and Measurement and Evaluation in Kinesiology.
Demonstrated commitment to professional and scholarly activity (extramural funding desirable).
Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
Knowledge and awareness of professional developments related to areas of expertise and the field of kinesiology.
