Carroll University seeks to hire an Adjunct Instructor of Physical and Health Education
for the Spring 2022.

Course: PED415 A| Assessment and Program Evaluation in Adapted Physical Education

Time/Day(s): 6:00 pm-8:50 pm, R, on campus

Qualifications: Graduate degree in discipline. Official transcripts due upon hire.

The Course: This course introduces the core theoretical and practical background necessary to assess and evaluate the motor development and physical fitness needs of persons with disabilities. Students are able to administer various psychomotor assessment tools and apply the results in the design of an individualized motor program. Culmination and submission of the Adapted Physical Education License Portfolio will be incorporated into this course.

The Program: The Physical and Health Education Teacher Education (PETE) major is designed for students who wish to acquire the diverse competencies needed to teach physical education, health education, and adapted physical education at the Pre-K-12 level. This program provides students with competencies necessary to meet Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements.

The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments: Athletic Training, Human Movement Sciences, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Public Health. The mission of the College of Health Sciences is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. The College of Health Sciences currently accounts for ~60% of University enrollment. A dynamic and growing entity, College wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. To support these initiatives the University has recently renovated a medical arts building to house and support its service learning and Community Health Service programs and partnered with the Waukesha Free Clinic at Carroll University. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these, as well as program specific initiatives.
